Following the Government’s announcement on the 4th January 2021 the LTA have issued a notice that all tennis courts in England, both indoor and outdoor, will need to close. This will be effective immediately.
The LTA will update their guidance and summary grid in the next day or so.
When play resumes the Test and Trace system will still apply.
Introduction of NHS Test and Trace
As a result of the LTA’s guidelines the club, as a Registered venue, has to introduce an NHS Test and Trace system. This is not optional. Other guidance on safety and hygiene remain in force.
1. Pre- attendance sympton check
Anyone attending a venue (including players, coaches, staff and any other visitors), should undergo a pre-attendance self-assessment for any COVID-19 symptoms using the information on the NHS website before leaving home. No-one should leave home to participate in tennis if they, or someone they live with, has symptoms of COVID -19, currently recognised as any of the following:-
· A high temperature,
· A new, continuous cough,
· A loss of, or change to, their sense of smell or taste
2. NHS TEST & TRACE
To support NHS Test and Trace, venues have to keep a temporary record of all those on site for 21 days, in a way that is manageable, and assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed.
Therefore, as from Tuesday 21st July 2020 members must inform Sandra Bennett (firstname.lastname@example.org or by text on 07870 768895) each time they play, the day that they played, who they played with and the arrival time.
The committee has decided that for the immediate future there should be no guest players at the club. This will simplify our collection of information to just that of members only.
